CEA Antigen is a tumor marker associated with various types of cancers, most notably colorectal cancer, and is related to cancer recurrence and prognosis. CEA is a highly glycosylated protein marker and belongs to the immunoglobulin family known as CEA-related cell adhesion molecules (CEACAMs). The molecular weight of CEA ranges between 180 to 200 kDa. This CEA antigen was purified from human cancer fluid using advanced chromatographic techniques and identified through various immunoassays (ELISA, ECLIA, CMIA).
